This is an internet based Racing Simulation Company. The work is from 2005 to present.
This view shows the track, the outfield and the outer-outfield. You can see the resolution change between the outfield and outer-outfield in the trees around the track. But, you will not see that while driving. I created the textures for the outfield and beyond. The infield was all track geometry. I also placed all the people and vehicle groups.

here is a nice shot of another track... New Hampshire Motor Speedway. I textured both the infield and the outfield. Each of these is broken up into many pieces. The infield has 4 parts alone; each of which are 1024x1024 textures. The outfield has 9 tiles in the immediate area around the track and more farther out from there.
Here are the 4 tiles that make up the infield. It was a joy to accurately paint all of the little details like the painted lines, different asphalts, stains, tire marks, dirt, and worn off asphalt sealant.
